10 essential things you need to know about Harry Styles

Former member of the British boy band One Direction Harry Styles has come a long way in his career.

Harry became an icon in this generation. His song topped charts across the country and even won significant awards, including Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance (2021), Billboard Music Chart Achievement Award (2022), and MTV Video Music Award for Best Pop (2022).

After their disbandment in 2016, Harry focused on creating music, getting involved in fashion, and eventually getting his break on the big screen.

Earlier this year, Harry recently made his lead role in Olivia Wilde's new movie "Don't Worry Darling" with Florence Pugh and Michael Grandage's "My Policeman" with Emma Corrin.

In honor of his upcoming concert next, here are some of the essential things you need to know about the award-winning singer.

  1. Harry and Ed Sheeran have matching tattoos. In 2013, Ed told MTV that he and Styles have matching tattoos. It was a cartoon character named "Pingu." Ed and Harry have known each other for a long time. He co-wrote One Direction's significant tracks, including "Little Things" and "Moments."
  2. He donated his hair to cancer patients. In 2016, Styles chopped his iconic locks for his role in "Dunkirk," He Self-reported that he donated his hair to Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for children receiving cancer treatment.
  3. Harry made his first film appearance in Dunkirk. Harry made his feature film debut in Christopher Nolan's sweeping World War II action drama Dunkirk, which came out in July 2017 and was nominated for eight Oscars, winning three.
  4. He sold out 15 shows in Madison Square Garden. He was the third artist to sell out 15 shows in Madison Square Garden from Aug. 20 through Sept. 21.
  5. "White Eskimo" was his first band. He joined the group in high school, and the band performed in several talent shows and even at a wedding.
  6. Shaina Twain is Harry's musical influence. During his 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Harry shared that one of his most significant musical influences is Canadian singer Shaina Twain. The two even performed at the 2022 Coachella festival.
  7. Harry is best friends with Stevie Nicks. Stevie, the singer-songwriter and vocalist of Fleetwood Mac, is a close friend of Harry. He performed during Stevie's second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
  8. He co-chaired the MET Gala in 2019. Making his way into the fashion industry, Harry landed in a Gucci Campaign with the help of Alessandro Michele (former creative director of Gucci). The following year they both co-chaired the MET Gala.
  9. Harry is a huge fan of chick flicks. During his 2017 interview with BBC 1 Radio, The award-winning singer shares that he watches many romantic comedies, especially ones that involve Nicholas Sparks. His fave movies include Love Actually, Titanic, and The Notebook.
  10. He speaks french fluently. Aside from his beautiful British accent, the actor has been learning the language for three years, and according to sources, Harry now fully understands and speaks French.
