Quiapo Church encourages devotees to check schedule of ‘Pagdalaw’ activities of Nazareno 2023

Devotees were advised to visit the official social media pages of the Quiapo Church for the schedule of “Pagdalaw” (visitation) activities in relation to the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazerene 2023.

The Pagdalaw activities will be from Dec. 1 to 15 and Dec. 27 to 29, said Bong Grajo, managing director of Nazareno 2023.

“Dadalhin ng mga pari at hijos ng Quiapo ang imahen ng Itim na Nazareno sa iba’t-ibang lalawigan, barangay, sektor, tanggapan, at komunidad,” said Grajo.

Meanwhile, the blessing of the replicas and standartes will be conducted on Dec. 27 to 29 at the Plaza Miranda, fronting Quiapo Church.

A thanksgiving motorcade will also be held on Dec. 30 at 11 p.m. that will start at the Plaza Miranda.

The Quiapo Church released the route for the thanksgiving motorcade: from Plaza Miranda - straight to Villalobos, turn right - Carlos Palanca, right - Plaza Lacson, Right - Carriedo, left - Evangelista, right - Gonzalo Puyat, right - Quezon Boulevard, left - Ilalim Palanca, left- Quezon Boulevard, right - Arlegui, left - Legarda, left - Conception Aguila.

Then, right - Carcer, right - Hidalgo, left - Bilibid Viejo / G. Puyat, left - Guzman, right - Hidalgo, left -Quezon Boulevard, right - Ilalim Palanca, right - Villalobos, Plaza Miranda /Quiapo Church.

An image of the Black Nazarene will be placed at the Quirino Grandstand from Jan. 7 to 9, 2023 for the “Pagpupugay” activities.

The Walk of Faith procession will be held on Jan. 8, 2023 after the midnight mass that will be presided by Fr. Rufino Sescon Jr. The procession is expected to start at 2 a.m. until 4 a.m.---- from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.

Quiapo Church Spokesman Fr. Earl Allyson Valdez previously said that the image of the Black Nazarene will not be present during the Walk of Faith procession. Devotees were encouraged to bring candles and small replicas of the Nazarene. Bringing big replicas is prohibited during this event.

On the day of the feast on Jan. 9, 2023, a Mass, which will be presided by Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula, will be conducted at the Quirino Grandstand.
