"When I got married, eto it's shallow but it's true, I cursed a lot and then Robin (Padilla) said 'alam mo hindi bagay sa'yo magmura, masyado kang maganda para magmura.' "

According to actress-television host Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, cursing was a form of everyday expression for her. Robin's statement stuck with her and stopped "90 percent" of her cursing, when interviewed by Aster Amoyo about personal changes after marriage on her YouTube channel "TicTALK with Aster Amoyo".

Mariel had met actor-director, now senator Robin Padilla, on the noontime variety show "Wowowee" with co-host Willie Revillame when she was a temporary presenter back in August 2010. Three months after they first met, they married at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India on Aug. 19, 2010.

Mariel, when asked about being a wife to the number one voted senator and full-time mom to their two daughters - Maria Isabella and Maria Gabriela, shared that it taught her to be more patient.

Aside from the changes that she is now married and with kids, their dynamics as husband and wife before and after marriage stayed - "walang nagbago". According to Mariel, because Robin is busier, "mas pagod" and more stressed, she tends to making their home a safe place to relax and cherish every time he's at home.

She shared that being his partner also meant making sure "the kids are okay, the kids are safe" as not to add anymore to Robin's worries. Sundays meant family time and at night was when Mariel and Robin "catch-up" with each other's every day. She currently viewed Robin as in the "banana-papaya phase" or always on the go.

Having asked about their love story, Mariel insisted that it was not love at first sight but rather, their connection developed over the series of shows they did together on "Wowowee."

Looking back, Mariel shared how Robin would stay an extra hour after every show to take pictures with
everyone. She explained that "it's all in your head" having that feeling of how "sikat" you are in the showbiz industry, Robin kept her grounded.

Mariel enthusiastically added, "ang bango" was one of Robin's physicality that she took noticed back then. Robin's scent is Bvlgari Aqua that Mariel liked so much on him.

The senator's wife also talked about her long-term friendship with showbiz "sisters" Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzales, being married and mothers themselves. She shared that Toni and her daughters all go to the same school which was always an opportunity to catch up with each other while Bianca and her communicated more on their social media platforms.

Having a new show to host whilst still being a full-time homemaker and mom, Mhies On A Mission or M.O.M.S. (with co-hosts Ruffa Gutierrez and Ciara Sotto), Mariel shared that three years of having no professional work felt like riding a bike - "nangangapa" but when it's a person's passion, "it comes from within" - it's in your comfort zone, according to Mariel.

Mariel views the new show as a blessing because of the divided time it gives her. She shared her schedule with the show only requires two days of hosting which meant she had time to physically accompany her daughters in and out of school for the weekdays. She added that M.O.M.S. was an opportunity to share her new found knowledge on being a wife, a homemaker and mom.

According to Ruffa Gutierrez, her co-host, it is also a "platform for self-discovery" as it also
tackles about everyday lives. The late-morning talk show, Mhies On A Mission or M.O.M.S, premiered last Nov. 28 and aired on ALLTV channel every Mondays thru Fridays from 11 am to 12 noon. (Jennifer Kaye M. True-Santos)
