BTS RM’s solo album ‘Indigo’ sells 553,770 copies in one day 


RM, leader of Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS, has earned achievements with his solo album “Indigo.”

“Indigo” was released on Dec. 2 containing 10 songs including “All Day” with Epik High’s Tablo and "Still Life" with Anderson .Paak.

According to Hanteo Chart, “Indigo” sold a total of 553,770 copies on the first day of release on Dec. 2 to top the daily physical album chart.

In addition, “Indigo” placed No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums chart in 67 countries and regions including the US, Italy, Germany, Philippines, Chile, Brazil, Canada and France.

On the other hand, RM’s "Wild Flower" with Youjeen topped iTunes Top Songs chart in 87 countries and regions.

For the album, RM has featured other artists including “Yun” with Erykah Badu, “Forg_tful” with Kim Sa-wol, “Closer” with Paul Blanco and Mahalia, “Hectic” with Colde and “No. 2” with Park Ji-yoon.

On YouTube, the music video for “Wild Flower” has garnered 8.69 million views as of this writing since its release on Dec. 2.

"While working on a song, there are songs that I feel like I have to complete alone, while there are songs that can have more completeness and vitality when someone's color is applied together," said RM, according to Yonhap News.

He added, "This time, there were lots of songs that I wanted to add someone else's unique frequency, narrative and sentiment, so I got to work with various musicians. I learned a lot while working with them."
