Police foil car theft in Las Piñas; suspect yields shabu


A 26-year-old man was caught in possession of alleged shabu and a knife after police accosted him for trying to open a parked vehicle in Las Pinas City on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, said the suspect identified as Eduardo Volante was arrested around 1:45 p.m. on Sanpaguita Road in Pilar Village, Barangay Pilar.

Santos said Volante is now detained at the police custodial facility and was charged with possession of illegal drugs and illegal possession of a bladed weapon.

He said members of Las Piñas Police Pilar Sub-Station 5 immediately responded after receiving a call that the suspect was seen trying to open a parked vehicle to steal.

When frisked by responding cops, the suspect was found in possession of an 8-inch bladed weapon and 0.7 grams of shabu worth P4,760.
