Parañaque City gov't gets 'Beyond Compliant Seal' for disaster risk reduction

The Parañaque City government received the “Beyond Compliant Seal” from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) during the 2022 Gawad Kalasag awards program.

Mayor Eric Olivarez said the city is one of the 135 local government units (LGUs) nationwide that were cited by the NDRRMC for disaster risk reduction initiatives.

Olivarez said the city government was recognized as a “Beyond Compliant” LGU, along with Quezon City, Muntinlupa, Malabon and Makati City.

The mayor lauded the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management team under Dr. Teodoro Gonzales and its members for their readiness to respond and implement the programs and projects for the safety of Parañaquenos.

Olivarez said the Beyond Compliance Assessment or Gawad Kalasag Seal is the highest award given to an LGU for disaster resiliency.
