NCT Dreams bags grand prizes, BTS wins best male group at 2022 Genie Music Awards

The 2022 Genie Music Awards ceremony, hosted by Korea’s Genie Music, was held on Nov. 8 in Incheon.

Eligible for this year’s awards were digital songs and albums released from Oct. 1, 2021 to Oct. 5, 2022.

K-pop boy band NCT Dream and trot singer Lim Young-woong emerged as the biggest winners by bagging the daesang or grand prizes.

NCT Dream won Singer of the Year and Album of the Year for “Glitch Mode.” Lim Young-woong bagged the Song of the Year for “Our Blues, Our Life.”

The grand prizes were based on digital songs (60 percent) and judges’ scores (40 percent).

BTS won two awards: Best Male Group and IdolPlus Global Popularity Award.

Girl group (G)I-DLE took home two awards: Best Female Group and Best Record.
