Kianna Dy delivers in F2 Logistics' third straight win

Kianna Dy left no challenge unanswered as F2 Logistics handed Creamline its first loss in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The 5-foot-10 Dy delivered 18 points built on 10 attacks, six blocks and two aces behind import Lindsay Stalzer’s 27-point eruption to lead the Cargo Movers past the Cool Smashers in a five-set victory, 22-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-11.
Down by two sets, Dy had no time to indulge in misery and instead got herself fired up to finish the job in five sets and come up big in their defensive display against the heavily attacking Creamline side.
“Kasi may goal si coach Boc na, this number of blocks . Coach Boc gave me that goal. He said na kailangan ko talaga bantayan ‘yong mga open . So, he said this is your job to block these people and so, I took it as a challenge. I’ll do my best. The game doesn’t finish in just two sets, so we all know that we worked hard for this moment it’s a challenge for us,” said Dy.
With six blocks, Dy totaled one more than the Cool Smashers throughout the entire match that she deemed was out of a sense of familiarity having played with Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza in the collegiate ranks.
“Yeah, we played against Alyssa and Jema during our college years, so medyo we know already how they move, how they play, so it was kinda advantage also. Syempre inaral rin namin. Kasi players they change naman. It’s not just . In college, they were spiking like this, they can evolve also. So, inaral talaga namin ‘yong Creamline,” added Dy.
Now with a 3-2 record that further boosted their semifinal bid, the Cargo Movers will be making use of all the time they could get to prepare – seeing how that came into fruition for them.
