John Amores slapped with indefinite suspension

John Amores of Jose Rizal University was slapped with an indefinite suspension after assaulting the College of St. Benilde bench on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The sanction was announced by Fr. Vic Calvo OP, the NCAA Management Committee representative of Letran, during a television broadcast on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The NCAA MANCOM opted to suspend Amores for multiple reasons such as bumping into the referee and pointing fingers on the officials, disrespecting the representatives of the MANCOM and referees, assaulting the Blazers' bench, initiate a brawl and taunting the opposing players, and for throwing punches at four CSB players.

A raging Amores charged towards the opposite side the court and punched Mark Sangco, Jimboy Pasturan, Taine Davis, and Migz Oczon during the feud.

But it was Davis, who only acted to mediate and take things under control, who suffered the most after falling down following Amores' solid hit tot his face.

The league insisted that "violence has no place in the NCAA" and condemned any form of violence that could spell danger to its athletes, officials, and fans.

Meanwhile, CSB wasn't spared from any sanctions as Sanco and Chris Flores were handed two-game suspensions as well as for engaging in the fistfight.

William Sy and Ryan Arenal also received a two-game suspension for a different reason though due to disrespectful acts in front of the MANCOM representatives.

Another sanction was handed to Sy as well as Marc Abaoag, Jason Celis, Karl De Jesus, Marwin Dionisio, Joshua Guiab, Christian Gonzales, Jonathan Medina, and Jason Tan, and St. Benilde's Ladis Lepalam for entering the court.
