Fisherman drowns in Quezon

BURDEOS, Quezon – A 60-year-old fisherman drowned while fishing in Barangay Amot here on Tuesday, Nov. 9.

Police identified the victim as Nolito Vargas of Barangay Poblacion this town.

Investigation said that the victim left his house at 6 a.m. to fish.

Hours later at 2:15 p.m., his body was found by two fishermen in a mangrove area in Barangay Amot.

Police said the victim’s boat capsized due to inclement weather and drowned.

Post-mortem examination conducted by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Irina Mari delos Santos said Vargas died due to drowning.
