The Department of Tourism (DOT) has engaged with foreign tourism stakeholders at the 2022 World Travel Market (WTM) in London to promote travel in the Philippines.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco met with leading tourism industry stakeholders from the United Kingdom (UK), Scandinavia, Spain, and other European markets on Monday, Nov. 7, to maximize the potential of Europe as a source market and forming new partnerships that will usher more invitees into the Philippines.

“We fully intend to listen to all of the players, experts, and stakeholders in the industry, that we perceive to be able to give us valuable insight on how the Philippines will be able to maximize this particular source market in this side of the world,” said Frasco.
Frasco also highlighted the qualities of Philippine tourism in terms of hospitality, nature-based destinations, and exceptional beauty as a nation.
Some of the high points discussed are the continuing engagements with the stakeholders to gather more valuable insight and support from the leading travel stakeholders in the UK.
Frasco also emphasized the overwhelming offerings of the Philippines in terms of tourism: “There’s no question as to the beauty of our country. Dare I say we have the best beaches, the best nature-based destinations, and the Filipino people display a warmth like no other."
Alongside its marketing arm, the Tourism Promotion Board (TPB), DOT joined the 2002 WTM from Nov. 7 to 9 at ExCel London in Western Gateway, London, UK.
The Philippine booth features popular destinations such as Palawan, Cebu, Boracay, Bohol, Siargao, the Cordilleras, and Manila; and diverse cultural offerings such as the Kadayawan Festival of Davao and the Bicol Express dish from the Bicol Region.
It also highlighted the event of the ancient Filipino healing practice called “hilot” in the Philippines.
