Airasia Super App expands bookings to land & sea transport

The Airasia Super App has expanded its booking capability to allow users to book tickets for buses, trains, and ferries.

Already ranked as one of the top players in the OTA (online travel agent) space, the Super App offers flights from over 700 global carriers and accommodations in more than 700,000 hotels in its platform.

Now, its airasia "transport" feature connects users to their end destinations in Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao via bus and ferry operators.

Travelers can secure their bus seats to Banaue, Baguio, Albay and other key destinations in Luzon.

They can also book tickets for ferry rides to Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro and other Visayas or Mindanao key areas.

Aside from the Philippines, airasia transport is available in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia with over 4,000 transport operators across ASEAN on the platform.

The service is powered by 12Go, one of the largest ground transport OTAs in Asia.

“Our key aim has always been to enhance the airasia Super App experience especially by introducing products and services that will add value for the traveler," says Eugene See, Head of airasia transport.

"The addition of airasia transport into our suite of Travel offerings is part of that strategy, as it allows our users to have access to alternative modes of transport to complete their travel booking experience with us, all within one seamless platform," he elaborated.

“We will continue to enhance airasia transport to elevate the booking experience for our users,"

"Our vision is to enable anyone booking with the airasia Super App to also pair any of their transportation options with hotels, flights, and also airasia ride,” added See.

“Our objective is very simple---to make the customer journey more seamless, convenient and hassle-free,” summed up Ray Berja, managing director of airasia Super App Philippines.

First-time users will gain 20 times airasia points for each transaction by simply clicking on the ‘Transport’ icon on the airasia Super App and making a booking.

To book buses and ferries, users have to click on the ‘Transport’ icon on the airasia Super App, then select their route and desired transport.

Next, they confirm their booking (Payment channels available: credit card, GCash, DragonPay, 7-11, PayPal, Google Pay and AliPay).

They have to arrive at least one hour at the bus or ferry terminal before their scheduled trip departure, show their proof of purchase or reservation at the counters and wait for the actual ticket to be issued.

Members earn airasia points for all their purchases on the airasia Super App.

The points can be used like cash to redeem free flights, hotel stays, and lifestyle deals with exclusive partners.
