The Malabon City government, through the City Health Department (CHD), launched the Department of Health’s (DOH) Intensive Catch Up Routine Immunization program in the city on Monday, Nov. 7, to protect the children against vaccine-preventable diseases.
The city government said that there are around 350 children, zero to 23 months old, who were vaccinated against tuberculosis, hepatitis B, diptheria, tetanus, infuenza B, polio, pneumonia, meningitis, measles, mumps and other diseases on the first day of the program. The vaccinations will be held in the city until Nov. 18.
The CHD also conducted door-to-door vaccinations for the babies, it added.
The program aims to inoculate children who missed or have yet to get vaccinated against the said diseases due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
“Para sa mga magulang na hindi pa napapabakunahan ang kanilang mga anak, hintayin ang ating mga healthworkers sa inyong mga tahanan o makipag-ugnayan sa health center sa inyong barangay ( For parents whose children have not been vaccinated, please wait for our health workers to visit your homes or coordinate with the health center in your barangay),” the local government said.
