Barangay councilor, driver yield P1.3 M worth of shabu in Bacolod buy-bust
BACOLOD CITY -- Two persons, including a barangay official were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alijis here, with the seizure of 201 grams of shabu worth P1,366,800 on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
The subject of the buy-bust was identified as Abby Araneta, 28, a barangay kagawad in Alijis, while her driver was identified as Freely Boy Aldas, 39, of Barangay Mansilingan here.
Lt. Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said that Araneta and Aldas are newly-identified individuals.

The police later classified them as high value individuals considering the volume of the drug recovered from them and Araneta’s background as a barangay official.
Mogato said they received information from concerned citizens regarding Araneta’s alleged involvement in illegal drug trade, prompting them to monitor her for about a month.
Mogato said that Araneta allegedly sourced out the illegal drugs outside the city.
For her part, Araneta, refused to comment on the allegations against her.
In a media interview, she said that the people of Barangay Alijis and those who know her would tell what kind of person she is.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 7.
