Over 16k families affected by storm Paeng still in evacuation centers — DSWD

About 16,114 families or 66,988 individuals affected by severe tropical storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) continue to seek temporary shelter in 246 evacuation centers nationwide, according to the latest report of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Based on the report of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center, as of Nov. 7, 227,025 families, or 1,061,198 individuals, are staying with relatives or friends.
At least 47,350 houses were damaged by the onslaught of Paeng—4,216 of which were totally damaged, while 43,134 were partially damaged.
As of Monday, the DSWD, concerned local government units, and other DSWD partners have already provided at least P236 million worth of food and non-food items to areas affected by the storm in late October.
DSWD has over P1.13-billion worth of relief resources, comprising P184.78 million standby funds or quick response fund and P946.32-million worth of stockpiles that are readily available for distribution.
