Speaker Romualdez commends fellow solons, private sector for Paeng relief drive
After the successful conduct of relief operations for the victims of severe tropical storm (STS) "Paeng", House Speaker Martin Romualdez expressed his thanks to his lawmaker-colleagues and to the private sector for their donations to families affected by the storm.

According to Romualdez, the Paeng relief drive generated about P26 million worth “in-kind” donations and ar least P49.2 million in cash donations and pledges.
“Karangalan po naming maging instrumento ng ating mga kababayan sa pagtulong sa mga nasalanta ng Bagyong Paeng. Muli po nating napatunayan na kayang-kaya nating bumangon sa anomang hamon ng panahon kung sama-sama at nagkakaisa (It is an honor to serve as an instrument to our countrymen by helping those affected by Paeng. We have proven that we can act in the face of any challenge if we do it together),” Romualdez said on Sunday, Nov. 6.
Romualdez also hailed Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo and the agency’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
“We commend Secretary Tulfo and all members of his team in the DSWD for performing their mandate well. To all the beneficiaries of this financial aid, may this government service help you take care of your families,” he concluded.
