Arellano still emerged victorious sans key players Cade Flores and Shane Menina, eking out a 62-52 win against Jose Rizal University in the second round of the NCAA Season 98 men's basketball tournament on Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Axel Doromal carried the cudgels for the Chiefs, scoring 17 points and grabbing three rebounds to help his team snap a two-game skid and improve to a 6-8 record.
Travis Mantua delivered on both ends of the floor with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals while Lars Sunga had nine points.
Arellano, behind the efforts of Doromal, Mantua, and Sunga, turned things around with a strong third period as it outscored JRU, 26-16.
The Heavy Bombers slowly came alive in the payoff period as John Amores fired a triple to cut a 12-point deficit down to six only, 56-50.
But that proved to be it for the Bombers as Doromal virtually secured the victory with a crucial layup down to the last minute and 30 seconds en route to a 58-52 lead.
Doronal and Mantua then put the finishing touches with a pair of free throws for the win.
Amores was the lone bright spot for JRU as he scored 13 points on top of 13 rebounds and two blocks.
Marwin Dionisio and Agem Miranda had nine and eight points each as JRU, for its part, slipped to a 6-6 slate.
