2 weather systems bring scattered rains over parts of PH

Several parts of the country will experience cloudy weather with scattered rains in the next 24 hours due to the prevalence of two weather systems on Sunday, Nov. 6, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The shear line—an area where the cold and warm winds meet—may affect Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, and Samar.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ)—a region where winds coming from the northeast and southeast hemispheres converge—may also affect the Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and the southern portion of Palawan.

PAGASA warned those in areas affected by the shear line and ITCZ to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

The public is also advised to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja said that so far they have not observed any tropical cyclone or low pressure area that may enter the country's area of responsibility in the next five days.
