Parañaque City cited for fisheries compliance performance

The city government of Parañaque was cited as the second top-performing local government unit in the Fisheries Compliance Audit conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DFAR) in Metro Manila.

The city was awarded with P100,000 cash and a trophy in the audit conducted during the first half of 2022.

The audit covered all local government units in National Capital Region (NCR) with fish ports and other fisheries facilities along Manila Bay.

1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez, who was the mayor during the audit period, congratulated the City Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquatic Services Office for the award – the very first for the city.

“We are proud to have partnered with the hardworking men and women of our City Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquatic Services Office during our term, and we wish you more accolades and accomplishments in the coming years,” Rep. Olivarez said.

Amie Hernandez, officer-in-charge of the City Agriculture Office, said Rep. Olivarez’ full support during his tenure as mayor helped her office accomplish a lot of notable achievements, including the Fisheries Compliance Audit award given on Oct. 27.
