Sen. Imee Marcos brings P20M worth of assistance to Paeng victims in Zamboanga City

Senator Imee Marcos on Friday, Nov. 4, donated P20-million worth of assistance to residents and farmers affected by Tropical Storm Paeng in Zamboanga City.

In an interview, Senator Marcos said P15 million of the amount will go to displaced residents while the remaining P5 million will go to the farmers.
The senator, together with Zamboanga mayor John Dalipe and Congressman Khymer Olaso, led in the distribution of relief goods to displaced residents and farmers at the Sta. Maria Elementary School.
Marcos was also briefed on relief efforts for typhoon victims and damage on infrastructure and residences at the Zamboanga City Hall.
"I think we should adopt the US style system, kasi one week na tayo dito so dapat may isang agency under the president to look into the evacuees, para di na tatawagan yung mga agency na tulong dito,” said Senator Marcos in an interview.
Marcos is scheduled to visit Cotabato City as she makes the rounds of provinces and cities affected by the recent typhoon.
