Winners on the first day of 2022 MAMA Awards

The first day of the Korean 2022 MAMA Awards ceremony was held on Nov. 29 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan.

Hosted by actor Park Bogum and singer Jeon So-mi, the music awards show saw the performances of artists including rookie girl groups IVE, Le Sserafim, Kep1er, NMIXX and New Jeans, Tomorrow X Together, Kara and Stray Kids.

BTS won the “daesang” (grand prize) for Yogibo Worldwide Icon of the Year, their fifth straight year to win the award since 2018 and the only recipient of the award to date.

The winners of the “bonsang” (main prize) Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10 are Stray Kids, Seventeen, Treasure, Tomorrow X Together, GOT7, Psy, NCT Dream, ENHYPEN, BTS, and BLACKPINK.

Winning Favorite New Artist are IVE, NMIXX, Le Sserafim and Kep1er. Japanese boy band JO1 took home the Favorite Asian Artist award.

Stray Kids also bagged the Yogibo Chill Artist award.
