BACOLOD CITY – A tricycle driver died while four others, including two children, were injured after they figured in a collision with another tricycle in Purok Katilingban, Barangay Sagua Banua, Valladolid, Negros Occidental on Sunday, Nov. 27.
The fatality was identified as Sunday Villar of Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.
Injured were Joven Estoya, 45, of Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid; and passengers Joycel Morante, 30, and two boys aged one and five, all residents of Barangay Sagua Banua.
Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., Valladolid police chief, said that Villar allegedly swerved his tricycle and collided with Estoya’s tricycle.
The victims were taken to a hospital where Villar was declared dead. The injured were in stable condition.
Benoman said no charges will be filed since Villar, who was at fault in the incident based on the investigation, died.
