BAGUIO CITY – Police here arrested 72 wanted persons in a two-week long Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) from Oct. 17 to 31.
City police chief Col. Francisco Bulwayan Jr. said six street-level individuals and three high-value individuals (HVI) were arrested while the No. 2 Regional Top Ten Illegal Drug Personality (RTTIDP) for the calendar year 2022 voluntarily surrendered through the conduct of “Oplan: Tokhang.”
Seized from them were 8.3 grams of suspected shabu, 52.9 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves with a total standard drug price of P62,788, assorted drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money.
Bulwayan said four assorted firearms were deposited through “Oplan: Katok” and 11 undocumented firearms were surrendered.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, nine individuals were caught in the act of playing ‘’tong-its’’ (a card game) and mahjong.
In addition, the Baguio’s Finest arrested 17 suspects in various cases and nabbed a businessman for illegal possession of explosives.
A supply officer of the New People’s Army voluntarily surrendered.
Oplan: Katok is a program of the PNP where police go house-to-house to visit firearm holders who have yet to renew their gun license.
On the other hand, SACLEO, formerly known as “One Time, Big Time,” is a synchronized all-out campaign against illegal drug personalities, most wanted persons, and loose firearms.
Oplan: Tokhang is the national police campaign against illegal drugs in the early years of the Duterte administration.
