Four men and a woman were arrested by the police after they were caught in possession of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P359,040 in two operations in Taguig City on Nov. 2.
In an “Oplan Galugad” conducted by the Taguig police along Bagong Pag-asa ng Taguig Homeowners Association, Inc. (BPTHAI) 1 in Barangay Ibayo-Tipas, two painters were arrested.

Personnel from Taguig police’s Substation 5 were conducting an operation when they saw the two men allegedly in possession of shabu.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft identified the suspects as Zaldy Calupas, 37, and Ronnel Trapago, 34.
Confiscated from them were seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50.1 grams with a value of P340,680, a digital weighing scale, and a .38-caliber pistol loaded with four pieces of live ammunition.
According to the police, the suspects will be charged for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Meanwhile, personnel from Taguig police’s Substation 1 launched “Oplan Galugad” in Zone 4, Barangay Fort Bonifacio that resulted in the arrest of suspects Rodel Balmocena, 39; Ronald Alvaran, 51; and April Ann Gaut, 26.
Seized from the suspects were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 2.7 grams with a value of P18,360,
The suspects were brought to the Taguig Pateros District Hospital for medical examination and were turned over to Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165.
