Special non-working holiday in Pasay City on Dec. 2

The Pasay City government has announced that Friday, Dec. 2, will be a special non-working holiday in the city in celebration of its 159th Pasay Day.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the Senate and the House of Representative have enacted a law declaring Dec. 2 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the city known as the “Foundation Day of Pasay City.”

Rubiano said the celebration of Pasay Day will be highlighted with the lighting of a giant Christmas tree at the Pasay City Hall ground and followed by a serenade to be performed by the Pasay City symphony band on Dec. 1.

She said the Pasay Employment Services Office (PESO), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), will be conducting a one-stop-shop job fair on Dec. 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to be followed by an anniversary thanksgiving mass.

The mayor said the PESO job fair will be conducted at the Pasay City Astrodome and will be participated in by 67 companies.

Rubiano told residents who are seeking jobs to visit the job fair site for a chance to be hired on-the-spot.

The mayor is inviting all job-hunting fresh graduates, including those who want a change in their career, to be part of the activity.
