Five drug suspects nabbed, P100,000 worth of shabu seized in day-long PNP operation in Caraga Region


CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City -- The intensified anti-criminality campaign against illegal drugs of Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) had resulted in the confiscation of P101,876 total worth of shabu in three separate operations yesterday, the police regional command based here reported Monday, Nov. 28.

The one-day operation also resulted in the arrest of five suspects, including a high-value individual, the police regional command added.

The arrested persons are in the custody of the respective arresting police units and the filing of appropriate charges is now being prepared, PRO 13 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra ll told The Manila Bulletin on Monday.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, an estimated P34,000 worth of shabu was also seized and one suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by joint elements of PRO 13 Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Butuan City Police Station (CPS) 1 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 13 (PDEA 13) at Purok 4, Barangay Buhangin, also this city.

"Our intensified anti-criminality campaign is part of our strategic thrust program DADDI in support of the MKK=K Program of the PNP Chief, P/Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin, Jr., or the Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran (MKKK),” the region’s top cop said.

“There is no slowing down in our anti-criminality campaign of PNP Caraga, especially now that the people have been very active and supportive in our relentless efforts toward the attainment of peace and order in this region," said Gen. Labra.

With this, Gen. Labra ordered field unit commanders and directors as well as municipal chiefs of police in the five provinces and six cities in Caraga region to step up ‘without let-up’ their anti-criminality drive.
