It was a short and sweet message that showed the 34-year-old American cager's appreciation to Romualdez and the House of Representatives in general.

"Speaker Martin, I just want to give you a special shoutout and a special 'thank you'. It's a blessing and an honor to be in your presence. Maraming salamat (Thank you very much) and thank you for everything. Love you," a giddy Brownlee said in a short video sent to House reporters.

Also on Tuesday, the House plenary approved on third and final reading House Bill (HB) No.6224 , which seeks to grant Philippine citizenship to Brownlee.

Brownlee, wearing a barong, was present at the plenary when the congressmen voted on it.
