The city-run Colegio de Muntinlupa (CDM) hosted the 2022 Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair and Exhibits, which gave students the chance to show their science skills.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon led the opening ceremony of the 2022 Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair and Exhibits at CDM.
"We challenge the Muntinlupeño youth to take part in activities like the Robotics Fair and Exhibits as they will be the driving force in achieving a sustainable country. We also aspire to have more science and engineering graduates in Muntinlupa City," he said.
The Robotics Fair is an annual program of the CDM that features the engineering college's initiatives in relation to the latest industry trends. This year's theme was "Innovative Learning Approach: A Sustainable City in Action Through Robotics.”
"It is important to prepare the country’s human resources to face the challenges and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as the need to increase the level of productivity, the issue of automation, and mechanization. Robotics engineering approaches, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, and the internet of things, among others, will be applicable to address these challenges," said Dr. Tess Fortuna, CDM college president.
Part of the fair were the Battle of the Bots and Science Quest Quiz Show.
CDM thanked its partners in the 2022 Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair and Exhibits: the Department of Science and Technology-National Capital Region (DOST-NCR), Department of Education-Muntinlupa, De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, and the Muntinlupa City government.
