Tricycle driver shot dead by riding-in-tandem suspects in Caloocan City


A tricycle driver was shot and killed by two riding-in-tandem suspects in Brgy. 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City on Sunday evening, Nov. 27.

The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) identified the victim as Jesus Gualves Jr., 44, a resident of Brgy. 176.

According to initial reports, Gualves was driving his tricycle along Phase 5, Package 3, Barangay 176, at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, when the suspects who were on board a motorcycle approached him and shot him at the back of his head. He died on the spot.

Police recovered four pieces of fired cartridge cases of a cal. 9 mm handgun in the area.

The victim was brought to Jenne Funeral Homes for autopsy, police said.

CCPS operatives are still looking into the identities and the motive of the suspects.
