Team Lakay welcomes ONE Warrior Series PH winner Adonis Sevilleno

Team Lakay formally welcomed ONE Warrior Series Philippines winner Adonis Sevilleno as the pride of Cebu bested 15 other mixed martial arts contenders in the reality show.

Along with the privilege to join one of the most famous and best, if not the best, fight camps in the Philippines is an acid test for Sevilleno as he takes on compatriot Drex Zamboanga in ONE: 164 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Dec. 3.

Both Team Lakay and head coach Mark Sangiao made the recent development through their social media channels.

"Adonis Sevilleno, what can I say? Welcome to the family, welcome to Team Lakay," wrote Sangiao. "This family is imperfect but we assure you one thing, you earned and took your place with us with all your heart and soul.

"That, that speaks volume. Your family is definitely so proud of you. We are all. You’ll now embark to another higher journey. It’s not going to be pleasant and plain sailing, no we’re not promising you that but we will be travelling with you. We will be with you every single step all the way."

Holding a 2-2 MMA record, Sevilleno takes centerstage alongside his teammates when he faces Zamboanga, who for his part has a 13-5 slate.

It will be a ONE Championship debut to remember for Sevilleno as he faces an opponent who already has two wins in the Singapore-based promotion.

Zamboanga rides on a three-match win streak with each victory coming from 2019, 2020, and just last February.
