Man kills wife, stabs self in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A 42-year-old man stabbed his wife to death then himself in this city on Saturday, Nov. 26, police said.

Investigation said victim Susaneth Hasil Leonardo, 38, was leaving her workplace on Veterans Ave. with a lady co-worker when they spotted her husband Ruel waiting outside.

Ruel approached them and soon engaged his wife in a heated argument.

He pulled out a knife and stabbed Susaneth several times. Ruel stabbed himself in the chest afterwards.

The Leonardos were brought to a government hospital where Susaneth was declared dead. Ruel survived.

Police are investigating a probable crime of passion with jealousy as a motive.
