Farmer hacks younger brother to death in Batangas


A 40-year-old farmer was hacked to death by his younger brother during a drinking session on Sunday night, Nov. 27, in Barangay Paraiso, Calatagan, Batangas.

Police identified the victim as Edecon Obrador.

Investigation said Edecon and the suspect, Herman, 32, were having a drinking spree at 9:15 p.m. when a heated argument ensued.

Herman got a bolo and hacked Edecon several times. The victim died on the spot while the suspect surrendered to responding policemen.

Police recovered the murder weapon. Suspect faces appropriate charges.

In Lipa City, Barangas, a 44-year-old tricycle driver was killed by his older brother before dawn on Monday, Nov. 28.

Police identified the victim as Galileo Bautista.

Galileo was sitting in a sofa in the living room of their house when the suspect Pedro, 48, suddenly hacked him with a bolo.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Lipa where he died.

Pedro was arrested in a follow-up operation and faces appropriate case.
