A total of 68,000 registered senior citizens in Parañaque City have received their Christmas gifts and food packs as of Nov. 28
Mayor Eric Olivarez made the announcement during the regular Monday flag raising ceremony held at the City Hall quadrangle.
Olivarez announced that the last batch of senior citizens who will be receiving their gifts are from Barangay Marcelo in the city’s 2nd District.
“We are happy to announce that as of today, all our senior citizens in the 16 barangays have received their cash gifts and food packs,” Olivarez said.
The mayor said the cash gifts and food packs given to the senior citizens may not be big but any amount will be very useful.
Olivarez said senior citizens who are between 60 to 74 years old were given P1,000 each, while 85 years old and above got P2,000.
He said the amounts are on top of the annual birthday cash gifts for seniors amounting to P500 each.
The distribution of cash gifts was led by the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs under Linda Alcantara and supported by personnel from the City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO), the Special Services Offices (SSO), Mayor’s Special Action Group, and the Traffic and Parking and Management Office (TPMO).
