2 crime gang members killed, 2 cops hurt in Bulacan gunfight

Two alleged members of a criminal gang were killed while two policemen were wounded in a shootout in Barangay Maligaya, San Miguel, Bulacan on Monday, Nov 2

In a report submitted to Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, the San Miguel Police Station said Rommel Suarez, a member of the Salvador Criminal Group and listed as a high-value individual (HVI) in illegal drugs trade in Nueva Ecija, and his still unidentified companion died on site.

Based on the police report, the cops were about to serve an arrest warrant against Suarez at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday when the suspects fired at them. The lawmen returned fire, killing Suarez and his cohort.

Cpl. Richard Neri and Pat. Aaron James Ibasco, members of the Bulacan 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and 3rd Maneuver Platoon, respectively, were wounded during the gunfight. They were brought to a hospital for treatment and are now safe, police said.

Police said four companions of the slain suspects were arrested during the operation. They were identified as Fernando Perez, and Reynier dela Cruz, both of Brgy. Maligaya, San Miguel, Bulacan; and Shierlyn Anne Pangilinan of Gapan, and Rowena Daquiz of Cabiao, both of Nueva Ecija.

Recovered from the crime scene were fired bullets and the firearms used by the suspects, a sachet of suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects were brought to the San Miguel Police Station for further investigation.
