At least P125,120 worth of shabu was seized in three separate buy-bust operations conducted in Quezon City, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III announced Sunday, Nov. 3.
Operatives of District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) identified one of the suspects as Edwin Escalante, 40, a resident of Sampaloc, Manila. He was arrested in front of Area 6, Basketball Court, Brgy. Botocan, Quezon City at about 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 26.
Confiscated from the suspect were more or less 16 grams of shabu with a street value of Php108,800, a cellular phone, and buy-bust money.
Members of Eastwood Police Station (PS 12) also arrested Mark Joseph Macatangay or also known as “Utak”, 31, a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan, Pasig City, and the no. 5 drug personality target, along Basa Compound, corner C5 Road, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Quezon City at about 10:10 p.m. on Nov. 25.
Seized from his possession were 1.40 grams of shabu valued at P9,520.00, a black coin purse, and the buy-bust money.
Members of Galas Police Station (PS 11) also nabbed Stephen Caballero, 31, a resident of Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City, along Bayani St., Brgy. San Isidro, Quezon City at about 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 25.
Confiscated from him were one gram of shabu valued at P6,800.00, and buy-bust money.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
