A 4.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Ilocos Norte on Sunday night, Nov. 27, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the quake struck 26 kilometers northeast of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte at 7:22 p.m.
It said the earthquake was felt at Intensity IV (moderately strong) in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte; Intensity III (weak) in Santa Praxedes and Claveria, Cagayan; and Intensity II (slightly felt) in Bangui, Burgos, and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
The earthquake was tectonic, which means it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
However, Phivolcs said it does not expect damage or aftershocks because of this earthquake.
