Teacher charged with rape in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A public high school teacher was charged for allegedly raping his 16-year-old student in a motel here on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

On Wednesday, the victim reportedly complained of an upset stomach, prompting the teacher to volunteer to bring her to the hospital.

Instead of bringing her home, the teacher took her to a motel where they reportedly stayed overnight.

The girl's father sought police assistance and her parents filed a complaint on Thursday, Nov. 24.

The teacher was arrested and detained at the Zamboanga City Police Station 5.

The victim admitted that she stayed at the motel with the teacher.

A medical examination confirmed that the student was sexually abused.
