CEU alumna appointed as associate justice of the Court of Appeals

Centro Escolar University (CEU) alumna, Hon. Selma Palacio Alaras, was recently appointed as associate justice of the Court of Appeals by the President of the Philippines as submitted by the Judicial and Bar Council.

Hon. Alaras is one of the two new appointees as associate justices. Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, a former CEU School of Law and Jurisprudence faculty administered the oath of office to the newly appointed Justices.

Hon. Alaras completed her elementary and high school in CEU as class Valedictorian and Salutatorian respectively. Prior to her appointment, she was the presiding judge of the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 62.
