Azurin to lead PNP delegation in Interpol meeting in France


Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. will lead the delegation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to the annual conference of top police officials around the world in France.

Azurin said the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in France seeks to strengthen member countries in the fight against anti-terrorism, anti-corruption, cybercrime and transnational crimes.

"The discussion will also focus on the matters that were presented during the 90th Interpol General Assembly last month in India. These include financial crime, anti-corruption, cybercrime, crimes against children, DNA database of missing persons," said Azurin.

"Those discussed in India will be finalized through resolutions so that everything will be operationalize by all police in different Interpol members and will eventually strengthen exchange of information between member countries," he adde.d

Azurin will be joined by the heads of the Directorate for Intelligence, Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management, Directorate for Operations, Directorate for Police Community Relations and the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management.

Last month, Azurin and other key PNP officers joined defense and security officials of the Philippines in India where the PNP delegation presented a country paper in one of the workshop committee meetings that highlighted the recent developments in the PNP campaign against illegal drugs, cybercrime, intellectual property rights (IPR) violations, transnational crime, and Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).
