QC cops net dance instructor, 5 others for selling shabu

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Batasan Police Station (PS 6) seized a total of P680,000 worth of alleged shabu from a dance instructor in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon City on Thursday, Nov. 24.

Lt. Col. Morgan Aguilar, PS 6 Station Commander, identified the suspect as Mark Arthur Managaytay Mendoza, 32, a resident of Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City.

According to a police report, PS 6 officers, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR), conducted a buy-bust operation on Commonwealth Ave., Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon City at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, after an informant reported about the illegal drug activities of the suspect.

Police said the suspect was arrested after an undercover operative who posed as a buyer successfully bought P130,000 worth of shabu from him.

Confiscated from the suspect were around 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000, a weighing scale, a cellular phone, a black Mio Sporty Yamaha motorcycle, and the buy-bust money used during their transaction.

Five more drug suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted by several Station Drug Enforcement Units (SDEUs) of QCPD.

QCPD Masambong Police Station (PS 2) under Lt. Col Resty Damaso arrested Raymond Jorgensen, 53, at his residence in Brgy. Damayan, Quezon City on Friday, Nov. 25 at about 11:05 p.m.

Confiscated from the suspect were two grams of shabu valued at P13,600, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.

In another buy-bust operation, QCPD Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) arrested Albert Garcia Alcantara, 36, and William Catangui Colarina, 35, both residents of Brgy. Payatas B, Quezon City, at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24 along an alley of Bulacan St., Brgy. Payatas B, Quezon City.

Seized were six sachets of shabu valued at P10,200 and the buy-bust money.

QCPD Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) under Lt. Col. Mark Janis Ballesteros arrested Jon-Jon Rivera, 47, and Junry Atunay, 29, both residents of Caloocan City.

Police said the suspects were collared along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) East Service Road, North Diversion Road, Camachile, Brgy. Unang Sigaw, Quezon City at about 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Seized were P13,600 worth of shabu, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.

Police said the suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
