The Parañaque Public Employment Services Office (PESO) organized on Nov. 24 a two-day mini-job fair to give students of Parañaque City College (PCC) the opportunity to undergo on-the-job training (OJT) with participating companies.
Parañaque First District Rep. Edwin Olivarez said 700 students at the city-run college need to complete 600 OJT hours as a requirement for graduation.
He said the graduating students are taking up BS Entrepreneurship, BS Tourism Management, BS Real Estate Management, and Technical-Vocational Education and Training.
The program, he said, is a great opportunity for the students to learn first hand how companies operate and how business is conducted in real life compared to what the students learned from textbooks and school lessons.
The congressman said the city is very much thankful to the local companies which responded to the need of PCC graduating students, part of the commitment of the city government to provide students good jobs after graduation.
Olivarez assured partner companies that the PCC graduating students are more than ready to take up the challenge of successfully completing their OJT.
Mayor Eric Olivarez was with the congressman in thanking the PCC in making the mini-job fair successful in helping graduating students.
