MB Daily News Update: Early passage of P5.268-T 2023 budget eyed


The Bicameral Conference Committee meeting to reconcile the differences between the Senate and House versions of the P5.268-trillion 2023 national budget has started. And it was of the general sentiment among the lawmakers that this task will be dispatched with easily, and the 2023 appropriations measure could be presented for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s signature before Christmas.

Meanwhile, the President turned his attention on the status of the country’s healthcare system as he pushed for stronger tie-up between the public and private sectors, as well as more scholarships for nurses and other medical workers, to shore up any deficiency in the system.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has started burying the unclaimed remains of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), starting with 60 bodies.
