A man was killed while two others were wounded when two armed men shot them in Taguig City on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
Police said one of the gunmen, identified as Cyruz Garcia, was arrested along with his seven companions during a follow-up operation.
The slain victim was identified as Ignacio Gregorio, 55, and the wounded as Jimmy Osorio, 53, and Armando Buenaventura Jr.
According to the police, two armed men who were wearing Grab uniforms shot the victims at 2:47 p.m. on MLQ Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.
After the shooting, elements of Taguig Police Substation 9, Intelligence Section, SWAT and Mobile Patrol Unit conducted a follow-up operation to arrest the suspects.
On the same day, Garcia was nabbed while in the company of Marvin Concepcion, 33; Jerry Damalerio, 47; Jose Dumandan, 57; Ralph Peter John Agullo, 19, student; Kyle Ferdinand Quenery, 28; Mikeco Rivera, 28; and Jessica Domingo along C6 Service Road at Capistrano Extension, Barangay Hagonoy, Taguig City.
Recovered from the suspects were one 9mm firearm with no serial number loaded with four live ammunition, five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing seven grams with a value of P47,600, drug paraphernalia, two hand grenades, one motorcycle, and green GRAB long sleeve shirt and blue pants.
Garcia will be charged with murder and violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and. Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Concepcion will be charged with possession of a hand grenade, while the rest will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
