BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Salvador Escalante has ordered to step up the Covid-19 vaccination efforts under the ‘Pinaslakas’ campaign in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The vaccination is set on Dec. 5 to Dec. 7.

Escalante issued an Executive Order on Nov. 21, pursuant to the instruction of the Department of Health (DOH) to local government units (LGUs) and its other partners to step up the vaccination efforts to reach their target of vaccinating more than 300,000 people daily for the ‘Pinaslakas’ campaign.
The mayor said in the executive order that the three-day special vaccination days schedule will be followed, pursuant to the directive of President Marcos Jr., to increase the Covid-19 vaccine coverage by the end of December.
The activity aims to reach 50 percent of the first booster dose coverage among 12 years old and above, and to further increase the primary series coverage for 5 to 11 years old, the order said.
Vaccinators from the City Health Office (CHO) will conduct the ‘Pinaslakas’ vaccination at barangay health centers, schools, and CHO, the order said.
The executive order cited that on July 26, the DOH launched stronger nationwide booster campaign dubbed ‘Pinaslakas’ which aims to increase the number of Filipinos with Covid-19 booster shot to help maintain the country’s wall of immunity.
As of Nov. 22, Cadiz City has 18 active Covid-19 cases, 2,234 recoveries, and 95 deaths, totaling to 2,356 cases.
