917Ventures highlights how design plays a role in its digital solutions

917Ventures is leveraging the diverse suite of digital solutions under the Globe Group to innovate and reinvent the lives of over 109 million Filipinos.

During the International Design Conference (IDC) organized by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Design Center of the Philippines, 917Ventures emphasized the need to develop digital solutions for the “new Filipino” and incorporate sustainability in its operations.

917Ventures was one of the invited changemakers and leaders from all over the world who shared their expertise on how design paved the way for the highest possible quality of life for generations to come.

“We design and build our ventures for the people. We find opportunities where the most nagging problems are, and we solve them through tech-enabled solutions. We have placed the consumer at the forefront of our mission, enabling us to adjust and adapt to their demands and needs,” said 917Ventures Managing Director Vince Yamat.

He noted that Globe’s continuous disruption of the telecom landscape prompted 917Ventures to focus on providing real solutions to everyday problems in the areas of fintech, media and entertainment, e-commerce and loyalty, education, advertising tech and data, B2B Software as a Service (SaaS), digital health, and climate tech.

He emphasized the importance of technology as a means to operationalize designing a future society and achieving sustainability.

“We create a user journey for customers to digital not by accident but by design. To uplift the lives of the Filipino people, we need to design for the people,” Yamat said.

“I am encouraging everyone to rethink design beyond aesthetics. Let’s use design as an enabling strategy that can transform society into one that is human-centered, prosperous, sustainable and inclusive, and allows people to live their best lives now and in the future,” he concluded.

Aside from addressing the pain points of consumers and enterprises, 917Ventures also scales and accelerates businesses in the digital space to support the growth of the Philippine startup ecosystem.
