Ex-online sabong agent shot dead in Tanauan, Batangas


TANAUAN CITY, Batangas -- A 40-year-old former pit master agent (online sabong) was shot dead by unidentified riding-in-tandem assailants at a kitchenette in Purok 2, Barangay Darasa in early morning of Tuesday, Nov. 23, in this city.

The victim was identified in a police report as Alejandro Lucky Tañedo Jr. alias ‘Lucky,’ and a resident at Brgy. Boot here.

Police received information from Daniel Mercado Medical Center (DMMC) on Nov. 23 at 12:45 a.m. that the victim was being treated due to gunshot wounds.

Based on the investigation, around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22, the victim went to a cockpit arena in the said place but left at around 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday along with two companions and dropped by at a kitchenette for a meal.

A few minutes later, the suspects who were riding-in-tandem, arrived and shot the victim several times using a handgun. The victim was hit on different parts of the body.

The gunman fled toward Sto. Tomas City’s direction.

Victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Probers recovered three fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 and a deformed fired bullet of unknown caliber. The police have yet to determine the motives behind the killing.
