EU officials visits heads of DOST, PhilSA; discuss future cooperations with PH

Two European officials visited the heads of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), DOST said on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

According to DOST, the two agencies were visited by the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) Delegation to the Philippines H.E. Luc Véron together with Mario Ronconi, Head of Unit for South and South-East Asia from the European Commission Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG-INTPA).
They paid a courtesy visit to DOST Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum, Jr., and PhilSA Director General Dr. Joel Joseph Marciano, Jr. on Nov. 22 at the DOST headquarters in Bicutan, Taguig City.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the ongoing Philippines-EU cooperation on the Copernicus space program for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, as well as exchanged views on potential future cooperation on digital connectivity, circular and green economy, health, environment, including maritime S&T cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed PH-EU’s shared commitment, goals, and aspirations toward a sustainable future anchored on science, technology, research, and innovation.
