'No offer, no interest': Salceda gives final word on DOF post rumor
Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda wants to put to rest the rumor of him taking over the position of Department of Finance (DOF) secretary, saying there's neither an offer for the position nor an interest from his part.

"As I said yesterday (Monday), I do not covet the job...No offer to me, and no interest on my part," Salceda said in a statement Tuesday, Nov. 22.
"I like how I am able to move fiscal policy from my seat in Congress," noted the veteran lawmaker, who chairs the Committee on Ways and Means in the House of Representatives.
On Monday, a news website reported that Malacañang could tap him as the next DOF head honcho.
"As I also said, Sec Ben is a good friend and absent anything the President says, talk about the position is pointless speculation," the Bicolano said, reiterating his initial reaction to the rumor Monday.
But now it seems Salceda doesn't want anything to do with the issue any more.
"In this particular case, it’s no longer speculation. PBBM (President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.) himself has clarified it. Media would have saved a lot of time by believing my denials yesterday," the economist-solon said.
"Anyway, it’s something to laugh about at the next Saturday breakfast Sec Diokno and I regularly have with our friends," he added.
