Mayor Emi to lead 159th Pasay Day celebration on Dec. 2


Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano will lead the celebration of the 159th Pasay Day on Dec. 2.

The highlight of the celebration of the 159th Pasay Day will be the Christmas tree lighting and serenade to be performed by the Pasay City Symphony Band on Dec. 1.

Calixto-Rubiano said a thanksgiving mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Dec. 1 before the lighting of the Christmas tree which has been set up at the City Hall grounds.

Rubiano said “Libreng Sakay sa Pasay” will also be offered by selected E-trike and E-jeeps and a one-stop-shop for job applicants will be set up by the Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

On Dec. 2, a parade of lights will be held starting from EDA Tramo going to City Hall. This will be followed by street dancing.

Rubiano said the activities lined up for November will include a second chance project hand me downs to be held on Nov. 25 to 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the benefit of local government unit programs.

The “Padyak Pasay: Moving Forward As Eco City,” a Pasay City bike day run in partnership with SM Cares, will be held on Nov. 26 at SM By the Bay at 5:00 a.m.

The mayor said the city government will hold a story in a flash photo contest with the theme of Kalikasan (environment), Kalusugan (health) and Kaunlaran (development).

A Pasay urban gardening competition awarding with the theme: “Mahal kong Kalikasan Maginhawang Kabihasnan” will be held on Nov. 28 while the “Pasayahin 2022: Enjoy Mo Ito Market” will be held on Nov. 28 to 29 at the Pasay City Hall lobby.

A Pasay Day mall-wide sale will also be held on Dec. 2, 3, and 4, giving big discounts to city residents in all participating establishments.

Rubiano said the city government lined up more activities for the employees and the Pamilyang Paskuhan for the residents on Dec. 15.
