Man dies in truck-motorcycle collision in Navotas City

A man on board a motorcycle died after his vehicle collided with a 10-wheeler trailer truck along C3 Road, in Barangay NBBS Proper, Navotas City on Monday evening, Nov. 21.

Col. Dexter Ollaging, Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) chief, identified the victim as Jade Matthew Diez, 28, an Angkas driver, from the same barangay.

The NCPS said the victim was traversing the C3 Road going towards Caloocan City at around 6:45 p.m. on Monday.

Upon reaching a gas station, the victim’s motorcycle suddenly hit the left side portion of the 10-wheeler trailer truck being driven by Rafael Vitug, 40, from Tondo Manila. Vitug was maneuvering the trailer truck to enter a garage in the area when the incident happened.

The victim’s head and shoulder were pinned under the wheels of the truck. He died on the spot.

His body was brought to Ezekiel Funeral Service for autopsy while Vitug was placed under police custody.

Vitug will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property, the NCPS chief said.
